Your Imagination is your limitation.

Substrate

There are many types of substrates that can be used for aquariums such as gravel, sand, dirt, crushed marble, or artificial substrate. The artificial substrate can be imitation gravel, or it can be made of small chunks of blue, pink, black, or other colors. Although some hobbyists don't really like the non-natural look.

Fake Wood vs Real Wood

For convenience, and to prevent cloudy fish tank water, fake driftwood is likely the better choice. Although the best pieces of fake wood lack the detail of real driftwood. Some aquarium owners prefer to use real wood because it can be a surface to grow moss or other plants.

Aquatic Decoration's

Decorations create the atmosphere your fish live in.  Decorating your tank will make the fish more comfortable. Decorated tanks are more likely to display their natural behavior, show improved coloration, be more active, and less time hiding!

Fake Rock Structures vs Real Rock Structures

Artificial rocks would last longer and will stay in better shape than real rocks. Synthetic rocks were made to last underwater without becoming duller or losing shape. Placing fake rocks in your aquarium will allow you to enjoy these decorations for the duration of your aquatic pet's existence.
